Living as a Church: Ministry of the Word

This is the 14th class of our series: Living as a Church. In this class we are giving thought to how the Word of God fosters unity in the life of the church. This class was taught by Paul Abdallah. Taught originally on September 5th, 2021. 

Gentle & Lowly: Chapters 7 & 9 (Hosea 11:8; 1 John 2:1)

A class considering the book by Dane Ortlund: Gentle and Lowly. This is the fourth class of a 13 week study, taught on June 26th, 2022. Throughout this class we will be considering the heart of Jesus for sinners and sufferers. In this class we consider Hosea 11:8 and 1 John 2:1, which teaches us that Jesus advocates for us when we sin.  This class was taught by Moses Abdallah.

Gentle & Lowly Chapters 5 & 6 (Hebrews 5:2; John 6:37)

A class considering the book by Dane Ortlund: Gentle and Lowly. This is the third class of a 13 week study, taught on June 19th, 2022. Throughout this class we will be considering the heart of Jesus for sinners and sufferers. In this class we consider Hebrews 5:2 and John 6:37, which teaches us that Jesus will not cast us out in our weakness.  This class was taught by Moses Abdallah.

Living as a Church: The Lord’s Supper

This is the 13th class in our series: Living as a Church. In this class we are giving thought to what is the Lord's Supper and how the Lord's Supper fosters unity in the body. Taught by Elliott Sperlazza on August 29th, 2021.

Living as a Church: Baptism

This is the 12th class in our series: Living as a Church. We are considering the topic of baptism. We'll define, consider the history and apply the ordinance of baptism to our unity. Taught by Paul Abdallah

Gentle & Lowly: Chapters 3 & 4 (Hebrews 12:1-2; 4:14-16)

A class considering the book by Dane Ortlund: Gentle and Lowly. This is the second class of a 13 week study, taught on June 12th, 2022. Throughout this class we will be considering the heart of Jesus for sinners and sufferers. In this class we consider Hebrews 12:1-2 and 4:14-16, which teaches us that Jesus is our help in sin.  This class was taught by Elliott Sperlazza.

Interview: Summer at SBC (with Kelton Zacharias and Kathy Abdallah)

During this interview Paul, Kelton & Kathy discuss two major activities that our church is participating in here in June 2022.

Throughout this class we will be considering the heart of Jesus for sinners and sufferers. In this class we consider Matthew 11:28-30, which teaches us that Jesus is gentle and lowly in heart.  This class was taught by Elliott Sperlazza.

Living as a Church: Corporate Worship

This is the 11th class in our series: Living as a Church. In this class we begin the 2nd unit considering how we foster unity as a church which starts when we gather for corporate worship. We'll consider the meaning of corporate worship and how it helps to foster unity. This class is taught by Moses Abdallah, originally on August 15th, 2021.

Living as a Church: Relating to the Elders

This is the 10th class in our series Living as a Church. In this class we are considering the topic of how the church ought to relate to her shepherds. This class was taught by Paul Abdallah. Taught originally on August 8th, 2021.
